About the Role
This is a dynamic litigation position where you'll build expertise in housing law while working directly with clients facing landlord-tenant matters. You'll develop a strong court practice, manage client relationships, and handle cases from intake through resolution. The firm you'll join has established itself as a go-to resource for real estate professionals navigating New York's tenant-landlord landscape.
What You'll Do
- Represent clients in housing court on landlord-tenant disputes, lease interpretation, and related matters
- Research applicable housing law, court procedures, and relevant precedent to build compelling cases
- Draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
- Prepare clients for court appearances and depositions
- Communicate regularly with property management companies and real estate stakeholders about case strategy and outcomes
- Manage case files and deadlines to ensure compliance with court rules and client expectations
- Advise clients on lease enforcement, tenant obligations, and New York housing regulations
What We're Looking For
- Licensed to practice law in New York State
- Prior experience in landlord-tenant litigation, housing law, or related real estate practice areas
- Demonstrated ability to handle cases in court and manage litigation timelines
- Strong legal writing and research skills
- Excellent communication abilities with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts
- Professional demeanor and commitment to client service
- Ability to work collaboratively within a law firm environment

Compensation
This position offers a salary between $140,000 and $165,000 per year.
