Insurance Defense Attorney

Jobot is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to join our civil litigation practice in New Orleans, Orleans Parish. This full-time position offers the opportunity to represent insurance carriers and businesses through complex litigation matters in a firm built on a foundation of courtroom excellence.

About the Role

As an Insurance Defense Attorney at Jobot, you'll take the lead on civil litigation cases from inception through resolution. You'll work alongside experienced litigators to protect client interests in disputes involving insurance claims, commercial liability, and business defense. This role combines strategic legal analysis, client advocacy, and courtroom representation in a collaborative environment where your work directly impacts client outcomes.

Core Duties

• Develop and execute litigation strategies for insurance defense and commercial matters
• Prepare and file legal motions, briefs, and other court documents
• Conduct depositions and take client statements to build case records
• Represent clients in settlement negotiations and mediation proceedings
• Manage discovery processes and coordinate case timelines with opposing counsel
• Prepare cases for trial and provide courtroom representation when needed
• Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court procedures and deadlines
• Communicate regularly with insurance carriers, corporate clients, and defense teams

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor degree and active Louisiana bar license
• Background in civil litigation or insurance defense preferred
• Strong legal writing and research capabilities
• Courtroom experience and comfort with oral arguments
• Ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines
• Professional communication skills with clients and opposing parties
• Detail-oriented approach to legal work and documentation
