About the Role
As General Accountant, you'll serve as a key member of the accounting department, working under the Accounting Supervisor to manage financial processes that keep our schools running smoothly. You'll handle transaction processing, account reconciliation, and documentation that ensures every department's fiscal activities are recorded correctly and comply with district standards.
What You'll Do
- Process and verify accounting transactions, invoices, and financial documents for multiple departments
- Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records
- Maintain detailed accounting files and ensure documentation meets district and regulatory requirements
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Assist with budget tracking and financial reporting as requested
- Communicate with department heads and staff regarding account status and fiscal processes
- Perform general ledger maintenance and data entry with precision
What We're Looking For
- Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet applications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts accurately
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and basic bookkeeping practices
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
