Solution Architect (Commerce)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital transformation consultancy seeking a Solution Architect with commerce experience to join their Solution Architecture team in London. This is a permanent role offering the opportunity to lead solution architecture for major global brands and retailers.

In this position, you will:

• Lead large-scale digital transformation programmes with global clients, designing solutions for complex eCommerce ecosystems
• Own, document, and communicate solution architecture to diverse audiences including technical teams and executive stakeholders
• Build and maintain relationships with client stakeholders responsible for digital and architecture strategy
• Orchestrate and run design workshops, translating business strategy and requirements into actionable solution architecture
• Ensure your architecture vision is implemented by delivery teams across all programme phases
• Apply knowledge of distributed eCommerce architecture patterns and common design considerations to client solutions
• Transition solutions to application architects, cloud architects, and technical leads at the appropriate level
• Make and justify key architectural decisions while balancing relevant constraints and requirements
• Contribute to team initiatives including developing common patterns for emerging technologies and proof-of-concept development

What We're Looking For

Required skills and experience:

• Core understanding of technologies within eCommerce landscapes, including enterprise commerce platforms and their components
• Proven experience with solution ownership on complex digital programmes
• Track record delivering solution transformations, roadmaps, and integration strategies
• Understanding of public cloud platform capabilities with advocacy for cloud-native solutions
• Experience designing large-scale, transactional solutions for global enterprise clients
• Client and delivery-focused mindset with ability to adapt solutions to meet changing requirements
• Prior experience running design workshops with diverse stakeholder groups
• Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences
• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation capabilities

• Order Management Systems (OMS)
• Product Information Management (PIM)
• Modern front-end frameworks (React, Next.js)
• GraphQL including federated architectures
• Enterprise commerce platforms
• Headless CMS solutions
• Cloud platforms (GCP or similar)
