Business Development Director – Fulfilment / Logistics

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential logistics technology organization in their search for a Business Development Director to join their fulfilment-focused sales team in Manchester. This is a high-impact hunter role where you'll manage end-to-end deal processes with mid-market and enterprise clients looking to optimize their direct-to-consumer operations.

Our client operates a sophisticated fulfilment proposition built on automation and innovation, serving recognizable global brands. You'll be instrumental in driving growth for a critical business unit with substantial market traction.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing client portfolios to identify revenue growth opportunities and develop strategies for upselling and cross-selling aligned with business objectives
• Build deep, trusted relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a consultant to understand challenges and align solutions
• Own the entire sales process from initial outreach to deal closure, achieving and exceeding growth and revenue targets
• Collaborate with internal teams including product, marketing, and customer success to ensure seamless client experiences
• Gather client insights to inform product development and marketing strategies, proactively identifying areas for improvement
• Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular reports and forecasts on revenue growth performance and pipeline health
• Potential progression into leadership roles as the team scales

What We're Looking For

• Proven track record in growth-focused sales within fulfilment or logistics (SaaS logistics solutions or fulfilment operations experience strongly preferred)
• Strong consultative sales skills with the ability to uncover client needs and align them with appropriate solutions
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation capabilities
• Analytical mindset with ability to identify growth opportunities through data-driven insights
• Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot and sales analytics platforms
• Team player with collaborative approach and client-first attitude
