Legal Operations Manager (3-6m Contract)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential enterprise SaaS client in their search for a Legal Operations Manager to lead a critical 3-6 month project in London. Our client is a high-growth technology company transforming how businesses handle internal operations, and they need someone to build scalable legal systems and processes from the ground up.

This contract role reports to the Head of Legal and focuses on establishing the infrastructure, workflows, and tooling that will enable the legal function to scale efficiently across multiple markets. You'll design a modern legal operations framework that serves as a genuine business accelerator.

Location: London (hybrid schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in office)

Responsibilities

In this role, you will own the end-to-end legal operations function and drive meaningful impact across the organisation:

• Design and continuously improve contracting workflows from intake and triage through signature and storage
• Build, maintain, and deploy templates, playbooks, and self-serve legal resources to enable business velocity while managing risk
• Evaluate, implement, and manage the legal tech stack including CLM platforms, e-signature tools, entity management systems, and AI-powered legal solutions
• Establish KPI tracking and reporting frameworks for legal matters, cycle times, and external legal spend
• Manage relationships with external counsel and vendors, including budgeting, engagement oversight, and performance assessment
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Security, and Procurement to streamline deal-desk and approval processes
• Support knowledge management initiatives and internal policy administration
• Contribute to information security certification processes where legal input is required

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone who is commercially minded, systems-oriented, and energised by building operational excellence:

• Proven experience in legal operations, ideally within high-growth SaaS or technology environments
• Deep understanding of how legal teams function and what they need to operate effectively at scale (formal legal qualification not required)
• Exceptional project management and process design capabilities with a genuine systems mindset and bias toward automation
• Hands-on proficiency with legal technology across CLM platforms, e-signature tools, contract automation, AI-powered legal tools, and workflow systems
• Data-driven approach with ability to translate metrics into actionable insights and improved outcomes
• Commercial acumen and understanding of how legal operations directly impact business results including faster deal cycles, reduced risk, and enhanced stakeholder experience
• Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while managing competing priorities and incomplete information
• Willingness to be hands-on with everything from workflow building and CLM integrations to team training and contract administration
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate between legal, technical, and business stakeholders
• Ability to identify bottlenecks, map workflows, and redesign processes for maximum efficiency

Pay
