About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client in their search for a Software Engineer I based in Paris. Our client operates at significant scale, processing billions of transactions globally and powering digital payment experiences for some of the world's most recognized brands. This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-impact systems within a fast-paced engineering environment.

As a Software Engineer, you'll contribute to building next-generation payment technologies that help merchants improve acceptance rates, reduce costs, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. You'll work across the full stack on projects critical to the business, with opportunities to grow as the organization evolves.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management within a large engineering community
• Design and develop loosely coupled, scalable systems within a microservices architecture using industry best practices
• Write clean, maintainable, extendable, and testable code on high-impact systems
• Build, own, and operate systems to the highest levels of resilience and service
• Stay current with and share knowledge of the latest technologies
• Mentor junior team members and support their technical development
• Lead project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with technical expertise
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Proficiency in C#.NET, Java, or Go, with a strong understanding of software development principles in either backend or full stack environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Experience working in agile environments and delivering high-quality code within tight deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• AI proficiency or curiosity—eagerness to embrace the latest technology to enhance personal and team productivity
• Payments or financial knowledge is a plus, but not required
