Developer Relations Engineer – UK

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential headless CMS organization seeking a Developer Relations Engineer to support their UK and international developer community. Our client empowers marketing and development teams to deliver structured content across websites, apps, and emerging platforms.

In this role, you'll serve as a technical advocate, creating code samples, leading workshops, and engaging with developers through multiple channels. You'll bridge the gap between product capabilities and developer needs while contributing to open-source projects and shaping the developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Become an authority on headless CMS architecture, helping developers, partner agencies, and customers understand capabilities and implement solutions effectively
• Conduct workshops, write tutorials and documentation, attend webinars, record instructional videos, and deliver product demonstrations
• Write sample applications, prototypes, and code samples showcasing platform capabilities and headless content management approaches
• Identify and document gaps or technical issues in APIs, SDKs, and services
• Support external developers in overcoming technical challenges and missing functionalities
• Contribute code updates and bug fixes to public open-source projects including SDKs, sample applications, and starter kits
• Propose new or enhanced platform features based on enterprise customer and community feedback
• Monitor and engage with the developer community on Discord, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Dev.to
• Represent the organization at online and in-person events, including public speaking and booth leadership at sponsored events
• Guide the roadmap for documentation, tutorials, and onboarding experiences
• Stay current on advanced topics and latest trends in web development

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in web development
• Experience with CMS platforms; headless CMS experience is a plus
• Thorough knowledge of consuming RESTful APIs; GraphQL experience is advantageous
• Thorough knowledge of at least one modern JavaScript framework (Vue, React, Next, Nuxt, Astro, or Svelte) and its fundamental principles
• Experience with public speaking
• Experience organizing meetups or other community events
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Strong command of the English language
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with multiple stakeholders across departments
• Confident, detail-oriented, and highly motivated to contribute to organizational growth
• AI literacy with the ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and quality of work

Desirable experience:

• Customer calls, developer support, or other developer relations activities
• Technical writing
