Fraud and Risk Officer Intern

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization seeking a Fraud and Risk Officer Intern to join their Paris-based team. This 6-month internship opportunity offers hands-on experience in fraud prevention, risk assessment, and payment security within a fast-paced marketplace environment.

Our client operates a global platform where transaction monitoring and fraud detection are critical to maintaining trust and security. As an intern on their fraud and risk team, you'll work directly with finance and customer support functions to identify vulnerabilities, investigate suspicious activity, and protect both the business and its customers.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and monitor high-risk transactions for potential fraud indicators
• Report on fraud statistics and identify emerging trends to improve detection rates
• Defend chargebacks on behalf of the organization
• Review account suspensions and appeals, making appropriate decisions based on investigation findings
• Resolve customer fraud-related inquiries and disputes
• Collaborate with internal Customer Support teams to balance fraud prevention with minimal customer friction
• Analyze fraud and payment data to identify platform vulnerabilities and recommend actions

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled as a student in Finance or equivalent field of study
• Available for a 6-month internship starting January 2027 (through June 2027)
• Fully professional English capability required; additional languages are a plus
• Investigative mindset with strong attention to detail
• High sense of confidentiality and integrity
• Data-oriented with proficiency in Excel
• Previous experience in fraud prevention and/or e-commerce is advantageous
• Must be able to provide an internship agreement from a French school
• Based in or able to relocate to Paris, France

Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Pay
