Senior Vehicle Test Operator

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential autonomous mobility technology company in their search for a Senior Vehicle Test Operator in Berlin. Our client is developing next-generation remotely driven vehicle systems currently deployed on public roads in both Europe and North America.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with vehicles and technology, understands systematic testing, and takes pride in precision. You'll be among the first to test new vehicle software and hardware through both manual driving and remote operation, working directly with engineering teams to validate systems before release.

Responsibilities

• Execute vehicle-level testing across software, hardware and driving systems following engineering test scripts
• Flash ECUs and troubleshoot vehicle issues using OBD, CAN traces and diagnostic tools
• Use CANoe or similar tools to investigate vehicle behaviour and collect test data
• Provide clear, structured test reports and documentation
• Identify, reproduce and document software and hardware bugs systematically
• Verify that systems perform consistently against defined requirements
• Collaborate with engineering teams, providing on-the-ground data to investigate issues and validate fixes
• Support both manual and remote vehicle testing activities
• Work from offices near Hauptbahnhof and occasionally at testing facilities at Tegel Airport

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Approximately 3+ years of hands-on experience in vehicle testing, test operations or related field
• EU driving licence with clean driving record and minimum 5 years driving experience
• Confidence driving safely in different testing scenarios
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to document findings clearly
• Excellent attention to detail in testing, bug reporting and documentation
• Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and take ownership
• Interest in remotely driven, autonomous or connected vehicle technology
• Good working English

Preferred:

• Safety driver or test driver training
• Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, OBD)
• Experience using CANoe or similar automotive diagnostic tools
• Experience with Jira or bug-tracking tools
• Technical qualification in automotive, electronics, mechatronics or related field
• Experience in fast-moving engineering or product development environments
