Senior Software Engineer (Stream Processing)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization in their search for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in stream processing. This is a remote position where you'll build event-processing pipelines that transform product usage data into accurate billing and revenue systems.

You'll work on systems that process continuous streams of usage events, where correctness and failure recovery are as critical as throughput. Every event matters financially—silent drops or duplicate counts translate directly to real monetary errors.

Responsibilities

• Build stateful streaming pipelines that compute billed consumption in near real time
• Develop and operate Go services that ingest usage events, move data between storage systems, and deliver consumption data through APIs and billing exports
• Guarantee correctness under failures through idempotency, exactly-once processing, and reconciliation mechanisms
• Operate transactional storage, persistent queues, and change data capture systems under high throughput
• Build reusable streaming infrastructure rather than solving each use case independently
• Improve the reliability, scalability, latency, and observability of the billing platform
• Take end-to-end ownership of your systems including design, implementation, reliability, and deployment

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Professional experience building and operating backend, streaming, or data-intensive systems
• Ability to reason about consistency and data correctness under failures
• Experience with databases, messaging systems, or event-processing platforms
• Ability to investigate unfamiliar systems and solve problems without obvious predefined solutions
• Ability and willingness to learn new technology stacks

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with stateful stream-processing frameworks such as Apache Flink or Kafka Streams
• Experience designing streaming pipelines
• Go development experience
• Experience operating services in Kubernetes
