Senior Platform Engineer – AWS – Team Platform (d/f/m)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential logistics technology organization seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their platform infrastructure team in Berlin. This is a hybrid role combining hands-on technical execution (approximately 60%) with strategic stakeholder engagement and mentorship (approximately 40%).

Our client is building the foundational infrastructure that empowers product teams to build, deploy, operate, and secure their products with confidence. You'll work with modern cloud infrastructure, focusing on authentication systems, observability, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Drive the evolution and stabilization of central authentication systems
• Take ownership of infrastructure observability, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code across the ecosystem
• Provide mentorship for platform senior engineers, guiding their professional growth and fostering strong cross-team collaboration
• Champion DevOps culture and establish platform engineering best practices across the organization
• Challenge technical directions constructively while maintaining strong team alignment

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Deep proficiency and hands-on experience operating within AWS environments (CDK, EC2, ECS, S3, EventBridge, SQS, API Gateway)
• Proven experience leading infrastructure migration projects spanning multiple teams
• Demonstrated experience actively mentoring other engineers
• Security-minded approach to platform engineering
• Strong background in system operations, specifically with Linux/Unix
• Ability to constructively challenge viewpoints while consistently aligning with organizational goals
• Strong preference for hybrid setup with 2 days on-site collaboration in Berlin-Kreuzberg
• Current work authorization in Germany or Job Seeker Visa

Highly valued:

• Experience with AI workloads, MLOps, or related technologies
• Fluency in Python or similar programming languages
• AWS certifications
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Pulumi
