About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology client in London who is seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer for a 3-month contract engagement. This hybrid role requires 3 days per week onsite in London and is designed for senior-level professionals with 10+ years of experience in data engineering.
Our client needs someone who can immediately contribute to developing, testing, and optimizing their data infrastructure. You'll work closely with their data team to enhance pipeline architecture, improve data systems, and implement solutions that support their growing data needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop, construct, test, and maintain data architectures including databases and large-scale processing systems
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition and innovative uses for existing data assets
- Design and implement data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production environments
- Integrate various systems using multiple languages and tools to optimize data flow
- Optimize data pipeline and workflow management processes
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and performance across systems
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 10-15 years of experience in data engineering roles
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Strong proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases
- Advanced knowledge of Python, Java, or Scala
- Proven experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools
- Strong AWS experience (this is essential for the role)
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Data Science or related field
- Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka
- Familiarity with data integration tools like Informatica or Talend
- Knowledge of stream-processing systems
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI
- Understanding of data warehousing solutions and ETL tools
- Knowledge of data architecture and modeling techniques
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Understanding of data privacy and governance frameworks
