About the Role

As Senior HR Business Partner at Town of Canmore, you'll serve as a strategic HR leader embedded within the organization's operations. Your Responsibilities

  • Partner with department heads to align HR strategies with organizational objectives and community priorities
  • Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding initiatives to attract qualified candidates to Town of Canmore roles
  • Develop and implement employee development programs, performance management systems, and career progression frameworks
  • Provide HR consulting and guidance to managers on employee relations, policy interpretation, and workplace challenges
  • Oversee compensation and benefits administration, ensuring competitive and equitable practices
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and municipal policies across all HR functions
  • Foster organizational culture and employee engagement initiatives that reinforce Town of Canmore values

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of HR business partner experience, ideally in public sector or municipal government
  • Proven expertise in talent management, employee relations, and organizational development
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, labour standards, and human rights legislation in Alberta
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships across all organizational levels
  • Strategic thinking with ability to translate HR initiatives into business impact
  • Experience managing HR processes and systems with proficiency in relevant software tools
