Senior Consultant, Lead Wetland Delineator (Mid – Level)

Environmental Resources Management, Inc. is hiring a Senior Consultant, Lead Wetland Delineator in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, to lead field-based wetland delineations and protected species assessments that guide environmental compliance and site development decisions. You'll direct on-site investigations, manage technical data, and author critical environmental assessments in this full-time role.

Role Overview

This position centers on directing comprehensive field investigations and generating the technical foundation for critical environmental decisions. As Lead Wetland Delineator, you'll oversee wetland boundary identification, coordinate protected species surveys, and synthesize ecological data into clear, defensible technical assessments. Your work involves direct client engagement, regulatory coordination, and on-site fieldwork across diverse landscapes in the Minneapolis area.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct comprehensive wetland delineation surveys using current federal methodologies and established best practices
• Design and oversee protected species habitat assessments aligned with regulatory requirements
• Collect, manage, and validate field data while maintaining technical database systems
• Author detailed environmental impact reports, habitat assessments, and regulatory compliance documentation
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, and project teams to define scope and ensure timely delivery
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to field methodologies and quality assurance standards

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, environmental engineering, or related field
• Demonstrated expertise in wetland delineation and jurisdictional wetland determination
• Hands-on experience leading protected species surveys and habitat assessments
• Proficiency in GIS, database systems, and technical documentation software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for regulatory and client-facing interactions
• Ability to work independently in field environments and effectively lead small field teams
• Professional certifications such as Professional Biologist or Certified Ecologist preferred
