Appian Developer

Maximus is hiring a full-time Appian Developer in Jenks, Tulsa County, Oklahoma. In this hands-on technical role, you'll architect and build sophisticated business process automation solutions that serve government and public-sector clients nationwide.

About the Role

You'll join Maximus's Technology and Consulting Services (TCS) team as an Appian Developer, taking ownership of enterprise application design and delivery. This position combines strategic problem-solving with hands-on development, requiring you to translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable automation solutions on the Appian platform.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade applications using core Appian technologies including SAIL interfaces, Process Models, Records, Reports, and Web APIs
• Build and integrate secure data connections using RESTful APIs, OAuth, and industry-standard authentication frameworks
• Architect relational databases and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability in production environments
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical specifications
• Implement version control, code reviews, and quality assurance practices within development teams
• Troubleshoot, debug, and refine applications in testing and production environments
• Stay current with Appian platform updates and evaluate new features for project applicability

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience developing and configuring Appian applications in production environments
• Strong proficiency with Appian SAIL, Process Models, Records, and Web APIs
• Solid understanding of relational database design and SQL query optimization
• Experience designing and implementing REST API integrations and authentication patterns
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices and version control systems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
