About This Position
As a Housekeeping/Custodial Worker II at Okgov, you'll play a vital role in keeping our county facilities clean, sanitary, and well-maintained. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Clean, sweep, mop, and sanitize floors, restrooms, and common areas throughout assigned facilities
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste according to county guidelines and environmental standards
- Dust, wipe down, and organize surfaces, windows, and furniture to maintain a professional appearance
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer in restrooms and work areas
- Report maintenance issues, equipment damage, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively
- Follow established cleaning schedules and adapt to changing facility needs
- Work collaboratively with other team members and facilities staff
What You Bring
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education
- Proven experience in housekeeping, custodial work, or facilities maintenance
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions
- Physical capability to perform cleaning duties, including standing, bending, lifting, and carrying
- Reliability and punctuality in a full-time schedule
- Willingness to use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly
- Valid driver's license or reliable transportation to Sequoyah County facility locations
