Senior Fullstack Developer – Business Automation (m/w/d)

About This Role

We are representing a confidential energy-tech organization based in Hamburg that is scaling its internal automation infrastructure. Our client operates a sophisticated CRM-driven business process architecture that connects customer workflows, internal applications, and core technical systems. They need an experienced fullstack developer to take ownership of their automation landscape and shape its evolution.

This is a senior individual contributor role where you'll manage both custom code running directly in CRM workflows and standalone backend services. You'll work in TypeScript across the stack, building workflow automations, React-based UI extensions, and API-driven integrations. The position requires someone who thinks in systems, not just tickets—you'll decide where business logic belongs and migrate it accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain TypeScript-based automation services integrated with a central CRM platform
• Build internal applications and UI extensions using React for operational teams
• Design and implement custom code automations within CRM workflows, including trigger logic, enrollment criteria, and error handling
• Make architectural decisions about logic placement: workflows vs. custom code vs. backend services, and execute migrations to improve testability
• Respond to production incidents in the automation landscape, including data corrections and backfill scripts
• Integrate CRM APIs for objects, associations, and batch operations with proper rate-limiting and monitoring
• Build event-driven synchronization using webhooks and subscriptions with robust retry and error-handling mechanisms
• Define object relationships, ownership logic, and lifecycle states within the CRM data model
• Connect internal and external systems (billing, metering, energy backends) to the CRM infrastructure
• Shape the long-term CRM and integration architecture, gradually moving complex business logic into testable backend services

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience developing web applications with a strong backend focus
• Expert-level TypeScript skills; solid React knowledge for UI components
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, asynchronous systems, queues, and event processing
• Strong understanding of API contracts, versioning, and testing strategies
• Proven experience integrating SaaS platforms (CRM, billing, or similar) via APIs and events
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, scopes, webhooks, and developer platform concepts is a significant advantage
• Track record designing scalable CRM and integration architectures
• Experience working with platform limits, performance considerations, and data volume management
• Daily use of AI coding assistants with full ownership of output quality
• Comfort with ambiguity—you'll clarify requirements, push back on features that don't make sense, and work directly with non-technical stakeholders
• Ownership mindset: you take responsibility for your domain, share knowledge proactively, and thrive in startup environments
• German language proficiency at B2 level or higher (written and spoken)
