Junior Fullstack Developer (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential renewable energy technology company based in Hamburg. Our client is building software that supports sustainable energy projects from initial inquiry through to live operations. As their development team expands, they need a Junior Fullstack Developer to join one of two growing product areas and take ownership of meaningful features from day one.

This is a hybrid role with 1-2 days per week in Hamburg and the remainder remote.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features in TypeScript-based applications using React and NestJS
• Take ownership of a defined product area and develop it end-to-end—from ticket through code to production deployment
• Work directly with experienced developers, product managers, and designers; a dedicated buddy will support you during your first months
• Develop and extend APIs and work with PostgreSQL databases
• Write clean, maintainable, and understandable code
• Use AI coding assistants as integrated workflow tools, reviewing and validating all output before merging
• Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD processes, and deployments
• Actively learn and progressively take on more responsibility within the team

What We're Looking For

• Practical experience developing web applications
• Solid foundation in TypeScript and hands-on experience with React
• Basic backend development experience with Node.js/TypeScript; familiarity with NestJS is a plus
• Initial exposure to relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
• Experience working with AI assistants and understanding that their output requires review, testing, and validation before acceptance
• Desire to build quality software and understand the reasoning behind implementation decisions
• Ability to reliably execute clearly defined tasks and proactively ask questions when faced with ambiguity
• Interest in owning a product area rather than simply processing tickets
• Comfort working in startup environments
• Eager to learn, curious, and motivated to develop professionally
• Team-oriented, communicative, and interested in understanding broader business context
• German language proficiency at B2 level or higher in speaking and writing
