Fullstack Developer (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential renewable energy technology client seeking a Fullstack Developer to join their Hamburg-based team. You'll become part of the engineering team building software that manages energy projects from initial inquiry through ongoing operations.

The team is currently expanding in two key product areas, and you'll focus on one based on your background and interests:

• Building go-to-market tools including inquiry funnels, financial calculation engines, and partner portals
• Developing project implementation systems that transform manual processes into streamlined applications, working on a greenfield product from initial design
• Owning specific product areas end-to-end, from roadmap planning with Product to production quality
• Developing TypeScript-based frontends and backends using React and NestJS
• Implementing features from concept through deployment, incorporating monitoring insights and user feedback
• Working with AI coding assistants as integrated workflow tools with clear governance—you decide what to delegate and own what gets merged
• Designing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases and data models
• Building and maintaining clean, performant APIs
• Conducting code reviews and writing tests to ensure quality standards
• Mentoring junior developers in your domain area
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and monitoring infrastructure

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years experience developing web applications (frontend and backend) with features deployed to real users
• Strong TypeScript skills and solid React experience
• Backend development experience with TypeScript and Node.js (NestJS knowledge is a plus)
• Experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL, including schema design and migrations
• API development experience with understanding of clean, pragmatic architecture
• Daily work with AI assistants where you take ownership of results—deciding what to delegate and reviewing outputs
• Product mindset: you want to understand who uses features and why, and you challenge requirements that don't make sense
• Comfort working with incompletely defined tickets—you proactively clarify open questions and find sensible solutions independently
• Willingness to take ownership of your domain and thrive in startup environments
• Team-oriented with direct communication style and comfort working close to business requirements
• German language skills at minimum B2 level for speaking and writing

This is a hybrid role based in Hamburg with 1-2 days per week in the office and flexibility for remote work on other days.
