Senior Consultant (Commerce) – Contract

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital transformation consultancy seeking a Senior Consultant specializing in Commerce ecosystems for a contract engagement based in London or Manchester (hybrid).

In this role, you will:

• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality strategic outputs for complex client challenges within digital commerce
• Serve as primary point of contact for senior stakeholders at enterprise-level clients
• Conduct thorough business analysis to identify pain points, opportunities, and improvement areas across commerce ecosystems
• Develop and present compelling proposals, roadmaps, and strategic presentations that articulate clear value propositions
• Support delivery functions with business insights to maintain focus on measurable outcomes
• Mentor and coach junior consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
• Proactively identify opportunities to expand client relationships and support business development efforts
• Bring clarity to ambiguous situations using advanced problem-solving capabilities and lateral thinking
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital commerce
• Contribute to development and refinement of internal methodologies, frameworks, and tools

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a consultant with:

• Extensive experience in management or consultancy roles within the e-commerce domain
• In-depth specialist sector knowledge in at least 1-2 areas (retail, FMCG/CPG, B2B, or automotive sectors ideal)
• Deep understanding of digital ecosystem technologies including e-commerce platforms (such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud), CMS, PIM, and related systems
• Strong knowledge of agile software delivery methodologies
• Proven leadership capabilities with ability to effectively lead and motivate cross-functional teams
• Advanced problem-solving skills with ability to analyze complex business problems and develop creative solutions
• Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills, particularly with senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Confident communication style with active listening skills to uncover core client challenges
• Comfort working with ambiguity and bringing structure to unclear situations
• Willingness to travel to client sites within the UK and potentially the EU
• Passion for client success and commitment to exceeding expectations
