Senior Collections Specialist

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech company in the consumer lending space. Our client is seeking a Senior Collections Specialist to join their fully distributed team in the USA. This is a floor-level expert role that combines hands-on collections work with peer mentorship, process improvement, and handling complex customer situations. You'll serve as a go-to resource for the team while maintaining excellence in customer engagement and resolution.

This is a full-time, hourly position working Monday through Friday, 6am - 2:30pm PST / 9am - 5:30pm EST.

Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Collections

• Contact past due customers ranging from 1 to 120+ days delinquent, communicating professionally to facilitate resolution
• Negotiate payment plans, hardship arrangements, and settlements within established parameters for customers unable to pay full balances
• Handle escalated calls and complex account investigations with sound judgment to deliver high-quality customer experiences
• Maintain accurate customer records and documentation of all account status changes
• Meet or exceed department performance targets through organized, proactive collections efforts

Peer Support & Team Development

• Provide peer feedback and support to internal and BPO team members, contributing to continuous improvement
• Assist with onboarding and training new team members, reinforcing processes and best practices
• Serve as first-line resource for workflow questions, troubleshooting, and peer escalations

Process & Documentation

• Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures to reflect current processes accurately
• Identify and surface process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer experience
• Maintain strong working knowledge of collections systems and tools as a subject matter expert

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in collections, customer operations, or related field
• Deep understanding of collections processes, strategies, and regulatory considerations
• Demonstrated ability to handle escalated customer situations with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment
• Excellent communication, writing, and typing skills for clear customer and peer interactions
• Detail-oriented with passion for accuracy and process consistency
• Comfortable providing peer feedback and contributing to teammate development
• Proactive problem solver who pivots quickly to address immediate business needs
• Proficient in LoanPro, Genesys, Google Sheets, Confluence, and Jira
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing priorities effectively
• Flexibility with schedule changes and availability for overtime based on business needs

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $50,000 - $65,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for up to $1,200 monthly performance bonus.
