Senior Software Engineer (m/w/d) – Teilprojektleitung

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization in München seeking a Senior Software Engineer to take on technical leadership responsibilities across multiple project workstreams. In this role, you will:

• Assume technical and functional responsibility for several sub-projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards
• Coordinate with team leads, project managers, other sub-project teams, and various client stakeholders
• Actively influence planning and steering of all sub-projects to ensure successful overall project completion
• Contribute to the overall architecture and strategic direction of the project, bringing fresh ideas to the team
• Analyze existing systems and develop solutions for modernization and enhancement
• Design and implement new software components based on Java (e.g., using Quarkus)
• Develop and integrate synchronous (e.g., REST/JSON) and asynchronous interfaces (e.g., Kafka) into existing system landscapes
• Actively participate in system integration as well as integration and system testing
• Work closely with clients and business units on technical and functional alignments
• Plan and facilitate sprints (planning, reviews) in an agile environment
• Create and prioritize user stories together with stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Technical Requirements:

• Multiple years of experience (approximately 5+ years) in software development with Java
• Experience in IT project management, ideally steering sub-projects in agile environments
• Confident handling of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DB2)
• Experience with test frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, WireMock)
• Familiarity with modern development processes (Git, code reviews, CI/CD)
• Experience with cloud environments (e.g., Azure) and REST interfaces is advantageous
• Knowledge of bill-of-materials systems, e.g., from machinery or automotive sectors, is a plus but not required
