Senior Cloud Architect (Azure)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization operating globally in the test and measurement sector. Our client is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of their cloud infrastructure with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure. This is a strategic technical leadership role based in India where you will define the technical direction for cloud environments supporting both internal operations and customer-facing SaaS and PaaS solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the overall cloud architecture, including infrastructure topology, account and subscription structure, networking, and governance models
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures
• Define and enforce security best practices including identity and access management, network segmentation, encryption, and data protection aligned with regulatory and compliance frameworks
• Establish cost governance practices to monitor, forecast, and optimize cloud spend in collaboration with finance stakeholders
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code and automation practices to improve deployment speed, consistency, and reliability
• Partner with engineering, operations, and software development teams to align infrastructure decisions with product and business goals
• Support development teams in building robust and scalable SaaS and PaaS solutions
• Define architecture standards, conduct design reviews, and ensure consistency across teams and projects
• Guide and mentor engineers on cloud architecture principles and best practices
• Continuously evaluate new cloud services, tools, and industry trends to improve technical capabilities
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning, high-availability design, and incident response processes

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or a related senior technical role
• Proven track record designing and implementing large-scale, enterprise-grade cloud solutions
• Primary experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platforms; AWS experience is beneficial
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles: IAM, encryption, network security, and zero-trust architecture
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, or SOC 2
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep/ARM
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
• Scripting and programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Solid understanding of networking concepts including VPNs, VPCs/VNets, load balancing, and DNS
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in English at business level
