Product Manager – Energy Billing (Fluent French & English)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential energy technology organization seeking a Product Manager to lead the French localization of a global energy billing platform. You will ensure the platform meets France's specific regulatory, market, and cultural requirements throughout the entire meter-to-bill lifecycle.

In this full-stack product role, you will own the French adaptation of the billing module—a core system that processes consumption, pricing, and account data to generate accurate, compliant invoices. You'll work across the entire domain and collaborate with product managers from other teams to ensure the complete billing journey meets French client needs.

• Collaborate intensively with clients and in-country experts to understand unique requirements, negotiate scope, and build a roadmap
• Deep dive into French energy market regulations, translating complex compliance needs into detailed product specifications
• Define and manage detailed product requirements for country-specific features including meter reading protocols, invoice formats, taxation rules, payment methods, and regulatory reporting
• Work closely with engineering, UX, and QA teams to ensure successful implementation and testing of localized billing functionalities
• Act as the go-to expert for global teams on French market nuances related to energy billing and customer journeys
• Continuously monitor changes in French energy legislation and market practices, proactively adapting the product roadmap to maintain compliance and competitiveness

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Product Manager or equivalent role in software companies, with a strong track record of successfully localizing complex software products for international markets
• Solid understanding of the end-to-end B2C billing lifecycle including meter data, tariffs, invoicing, and debt management
• Track record in regulated markets where billing complexity matters—energy, telecoms, financial services, or similar. Familiarity with the French energy market is advantageous
• Exceptional ability to translate abstract regulatory text or client requirements into clear, actionable, outcome-driven requirements for development teams
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, legal, operations, client success) to deliver localized solutions
• Excellent stakeholder and client management skills, able to lead conversations across requirements, scope, expectations, and roadmap alignment
• Proficiency in AI tools throughout all stages of the product lifecycle—from discovery and ideation to delivery and iteration
• A builder's mindset—you're autonomous, learn fast, and comfortable interrogating a codebase with AI tools, reading an API schema or data model, and writing SQL queries
• Comfortable with ambiguity and pace—you can operate effectively when not everything is defined and know when to escalate
• Fluent in French and English (spoken and written)—essential for this position

Location: Paris, France – Hybrid (3 days in office)
