Privacy Engineering Director

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential privacy-focused technology company seeking a Privacy Engineering Director to lead critical privacy initiatives across their product ecosystem. This is a remote role for a seasoned engineering leader who thrives on solving complex, ambiguous privacy challenges at scale.

As Privacy Engineering Director, you will own high-complexity privacy projects from conception through delivery, working across browser products, search capabilities, and emerging AI-assisted workflows. You'll be the go-to leader for the most sensitive privacy challenges, building frameworks and systems that preserve user trust while enabling product innovation.

Responsibilities

• Lead privacy engineering initiatives for products serving millions of users globally
• Design and implement privacy engineering frameworks for novel use cases including AI-assisted browsing and agentic computing
• Own technical privacy reviews, audits, and compliance programs end-to-end
• Build automation and infrastructure tools that reduce privacy engineering toil and scale review processes
• Drive data minimization systems and privacy-preserving technical solutions across the product surface
• Evolve privacy triage processes and cross-functional collaboration frameworks
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of privacy engineers
• Translate privacy principles into practical engineering decisions that balance user protection with product requirements
• Contribute to company-wide privacy strategy and serve as a subject matter expert across the organization

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years leading privacy reviews, audits, or technical privacy programs at a consumer product company with 1M+ user base
• 4+ years privacy engineering leadership experience building privacy infrastructure, data minimization systems, or equivalent technical solutions
• Director, Head of, or VP-level experience with direct management and hiring responsibilities
• Proven track record as a DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) on high-complexity, cross-functional projects with minimal direction
• Strong communication skills with ability to translate privacy requirements across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience identifying process bottlenecks and implementing scalable solutions through automation
• Deep expertise in privacy engineering, audit frameworks, and compliance standards
• Passion for user privacy and raising industry standards for trust online
• Comfortable with remote work including video meetings and periodic travel for team gatherings

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $243,800 USD annually plus stock options.
