Staff Software Developer (IAM)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading developer tools organization that is building the foundational platform layer for modern software development. Our client is expanding their identity and access management team, which owns critical authentication, authorization, and organizational management services that support multiple enterprise products and thousands of development teams worldwide.

This is a Staff-level engineering role based in Berlin, Munich, or remote within Germany, focused on maintaining and evolving production identity services that operate at significant scale in a multi-tenant SaaS environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete software development lifecycle for identity and access management services, including codebase, architecture, and production operations
• Maintain and enhance services built primarily in Kotlin with some Go components, ensuring reliability and performance as usage scales
• Design and implement new features across identity, organization, membership, group, and workspace management domains
• Review and integrate pull requests from other platform engineering teams
• Manage integrations with other platform components and connected applications across the ecosystem
• Monitor and optimize performance of JVM-based services and PostgreSQL databases in production

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 7+ years of JVM development experience, preferably with Kotlin
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues on JVM and PostgreSQL
• Demonstrated experience building and operating SaaS production services in distributed, multi-tenant environments
• Fluency with modern DevOps tooling including Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana
• Track record of successfully taking over and improving existing production services

Preferred experience:

• Identity management protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML 2.0, or SCIM 2.0
• Designing and evolving domain models for organizational or identity systems
• Cybersecurity practices including risk assessment, vulnerability pattern recognition, and secure SDLC practices
• Hands-on development experience with Go

Pay
