Senior Business Controller Production (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential manufacturing client in Berlin who needs a Senior Business Controller focused on production operations. In this role, you will serve as the critical bridge between production, project management, and finance teams.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Analyzing and preparing production and project data, deriving actionable recommendations for operational improvements
• Acting as a controlling sparring partner to production leadership and project managers, supporting strategic decision-making
• Tracking budgets, costs, and project progress with detailed variance analysis
• Supporting product cost calculations and participating in budget and forecast processes
• Identifying optimization opportunities in production and project workflows and actively contributing to their implementation
• Contributing to the evolution of reporting systems within an SAP S/4HANA environment
• Coordinating with internal stakeholders across production, project management, and finance functions

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a candidate with proven production controlling expertise in a manufacturing environment:

• Multiple years of experience in production controlling (manufacturing, plant, or operations controlling) with solid understanding of production KPIs, cost structures, and manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated experience analyzing production and project data, conducting variance analysis, and partnering with production leadership and finance to drive informed decisions
• Practical experience with product costing, material and order calculations, plus budget, forecast, and cost control processes
• Strong proficiency in SAP (ideally S/4HANA) and Excel; experience with Power BI or other reporting tools is advantageous
• Excellent analytical capabilities, structured and independent working style, and ability to identify and implement process improvements
• Business-fluent German (C1/C2 level) is mandatory as the role requires close collaboration with German-speaking technical and management staff; good English skills are also required
