About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential mobility software organization seeking a Senior Application Engineer in Munich. Our client develops safety-certified software solutions for automotive, robotics, aerospace, and industrial automation systems.
This is a highly technical, hands-on role combining strong C++ engineering with customer-facing solutions work. You'll deploy advanced software platforms, troubleshoot complex distributed and embedded systems, and help global customers bring real-world applications to production. This position requires close collaboration with both customers and internal product teams.
Authorization to work in Germany is required for this office-based role in Munich.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and integrate safety-certified software solutions in customer environments across automotive and intelligent machine platforms
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex software, networking, middleware, and embedded systems issues
- Work directly with global customers to understand technical requirements and deliver high-quality implementations
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to contribute features, fixes, and product improvements
- Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and customer training sessions
- Partner across functions to improve product capabilities, usability, and performance
- Accelerate customer adoption and success through hands-on enablement
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in modern C++
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across complex software systems
- Experience developing software for embedded or distributed systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional teams
- Experience with modern development workflows: Git, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and issue tracking systems
- Self-driven and comfortable operating independently in dynamic technical environments
Preferred:
- Experience in automotive, robotics, aerospace, industrial automation, or other safety-critical domains
- Familiarity with operating systems, networking, and communication protocols (UDP, multicast, TCP/IP, DDS, ROS/ROS 2)
- Understanding of real-time systems and automotive software architectures
- Experience in technical consulting, field engineering, developer support, or professional services
- Customer enablement or technical training experience
- Familiarity with build systems such as Bazel or CMake
- Experience working with Linux-based development environments
