Global Director of Logistics & Fulfilment

Responsibilities

We are representing a high-growth sustainable e-commerce organization seeking a Global Director of Logistics & Fulfilment to lead end-to-end logistics operations across multi-country markets. Reporting to the VP Operations, you will oversee a global team of 15+ members across 10+ countries and sit on the leadership team.

You will own and optimize the full logistics value chain including inbound warehousing, repack and kitting operations, inventory management, pick and pack processes, carrier coordination, last-mile delivery, and returns management. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on operational execution.

Strategic Fulfillment Network Development:

• Design and execute a logistics and fulfillment strategy supporting cost efficiency, service quality, and international expansion
• Build scalable processes across the full value chain from warehouse receipt through final delivery
• Create operational structure quickly, make informed trade-offs, and iterate as the business scales

3PL and Carrier Ecosystem Management:

• Evaluate, select, and onboard third-party logistics providers, fulfillment partners, and data/visibility vendors
• Negotiate commercial and legal terms and establish strong governance frameworks
• Define operational standards including facility design, process flows, repack specifications, SOPs, WMS integration, and capacity planning
• Conduct quarterly and annual business reviews, monitor partner performance against SLAs, and drive corrective action

Performance, Planning, and Inventory Management:

• Drive monthly S&OP processes, connecting demand forecasts with supply planning, capacity, and operational constraints
• Partner with Commercial and Supply Planning teams to optimize inventory health, reduce obsolescence and shrink, and improve inventory turns
• Build dashboards and operating rhythms that create transparency and enable rapid decision-making across markets

Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Lead and develop a global logistics organization, setting clear priorities and empowering local leaders
• Work closely with Commercial, Marketing, Product, Finance, and local Operations teams to execute business objectives
• Lead complex cross-functional initiatives including carrier transitions, new market launches, peak season readiness, and system implementations

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Senior logistics or fulfillment leadership background, ideally in e-commerce, food delivery, meal kits, retail, or food/CPG supply chain
• Proven track record building and managing multi-country logistics operations with multiple 3PL and carrier partners
• Strong experience in warehouse process design and optimization (directly or through 3PLs) including pick/pack, repack/kitting, layout, and capacity planning
• Experience with cross-border and pan-European parcel networks strongly preferred
• Background in global matrix organizations is a plus

Key Capabilities:

• Strong analytical skills with experience in KPI development, dashboard creation, root-cause problem solving, and planning discipline (S&OP, capacity, inventory)
• Excellent stakeholder management—ability to align teams, challenge constructively, and drive decisions
• Strategic operator who can design systems and execute day-to-day operations
• Comfortable moving fast and delivering outcomes in agile, iterative environments without perfect information
• Commercially sharp with understanding of unit economics, contract levers, and scaling with partners
• Calm under pressure during peak periods, partner incidents, and operational challenges while continuing to improve systems

• Scalable, repeatable fulfillment model with reliable delivery and strong unit economics
• Strong partner performance with clear SLAs and measurable outcomes
• Service metric improvements (on-time delivery, refunds, delivery quality) while reducing cost-to-serve
• Improved inventory health with fewer write-offs and faster decision cycles
