Sales Engineer – Canada

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology client in the secure communications sector. They are seeking a Sales Engineer based in Ottawa, Canada to join their expanding team. This is a customer-facing technical role that combines pre-sales consulting, product demonstrations, and post-sales support for advanced wireless networking solutions used in mission-critical environments.

This is a remote position with significant travel requirements (up to 50%) to customer sites, trade shows, and field demonstrations across Canada and potentially internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical consultation to customers during the sales cycle, including system planning and solution design
• Conduct product demonstrations at customer sites, trade shows, and equipment evaluations
• Deliver customer training sessions on radio and networking technology applications
• Perform system optimization and troubleshooting in field environments
• Collect field performance data and communicate findings to engineering teams
• Support hardware maintenance and resource allocation for sales initiatives
• Collaborate with product development teams to influence future roadmap priorities
• Travel frequently (50%) for customer meetings, demonstrations, and technical support

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field with 2+ years in pre/post-sales technical support; OR High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years in similar role
• Proficiency with RF test equipment including signal generators and spectrum analyzers
• Must be based in Ottawa, Canada
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work at customer sites, including outdoor environments
• Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs for demonstrations and testing
• Successful background check clearance

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Linux operating systems
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocol and networking fundamentals
• Experience operating and testing IP-based radio equipment
• Knowledge of wireless communication systems, RF signal propagation, and digital communications
• Programming skills in C/C++
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Pay
