Senior Fire, Health and Safety Consultant

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential risk and compliance consultancy seeking a Senior Fire, Health and Safety Consultant to join their professional services team in London. This is a hybrid, permanent position working with an established portfolio of clients across residential, commercial, and retail sectors.

Our client specializes in fire safety and workplace risk management for mid-to-high rise buildings and complex built environments. You will report to a Team Leader within a collaborative team structure and work directly with clients to deliver expert risk assessments and compliance solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments and health and safety risk assessments across various building types, including mid-high rise residential and commercial properties
• Deliver client reports within agreed service level agreements, maintaining high professional standards
• Undertake fire, health and safety assignments within your competency level
• Design bespoke health and safety site management systems tailored to specific client requirements
• Provide onsite briefings and advise clients on risk management improvements
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective knowledge sharing
• Stay current with technical and regulatory requirements impacting the built environment sector
• Demonstrate understanding of online risk management systems and compliance platforms
• Meet fee-earning targets while maintaining quality standards

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 5+ years' experience conducting fire, health and safety risk assessments within the built environment, specifically in residential and/or commercial buildings
• Strong working knowledge of Approved Document B
• Solid understanding of BS 9999 / 9997 standards
• Education and competency to carry out Fire and Health & Safety risk assessments on buildings of seven or more floors
• Ability to undertake Fire Risk Assessments and General Risk Assessments simultaneously
• Excellent communication and report writing skills
• Comprehensive understanding of current UK fire safety and health & safety regulations

Required Qualifications:

• NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety or equivalent (minimum requirement)
• Willingness to register on fire risk assessor registers such as IFSM, FRACS, IFPO or IFE

Advantageous:

• Recognized fire safety memberships including AIFireE, MIFireE, GIFireE, MIFSM or MIFPO

Location: London and surrounding areas, hybrid working arrangement
