Registered Nurse (RN), On Call 7 On 7 Off Hospice

Phoenix Home Care and Hospice is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for an on-call 7 on 7 off hospice position in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a full-time role offering meaningful work caring for patients at life's end and supporting families through end-of-life transitions.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in hospice care, you'll provide direct nursing support during scheduled on-call periods to patients and their families. Your expertise will be essential in managing comfort, symptom management, and compassionate end-of-life care. The 7 on 7 off rotation provides dedicated shifts followed by scheduled time off, allowing you to maintain work-life balance while delivering exceptional patient care throughout the Kansas City area.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and vital signs, documenting changes in status and communicating updates to the interdisciplinary care team
• Manage medication administration and pain control protocols to ensure patient comfort
• Provide wound care, catheter management, and other skilled nursing interventions as needed
• Educate patients and family members on comfort measures and end-of-life care
• Respond to patient and family concerns with clinical expertise and emotional support
• Coordinate care transitions and collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other team members
• Maintain detailed clinical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Missouri
• Commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care philosophy
• Strong communication and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to work independently during on-call shifts and manage clinical decision-making
• Experience in hospice or end-of-life care is preferred
• Flexibility to work the scheduled 7 on 7 off rotation
