Role Overview
In this part-time position, you'll work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to deliver compassionate rehabilitation and mobility support to patients throughout the Wichita area. Whether assisting with therapeutic exercises, helping patients regain independence, or providing comfort-focused care, your clinical skills and patient empathy will be central to our mission. This role offers the flexibility of part-time work with the professional fulfillment of home-based healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Execute physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising physical therapist
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and functional activities tailored to their recovery goals
- Apply physical therapy modalities and techniques to reduce pain, improve strength, and restore movement
- Monitor patient progress, respond to concerns, and communicate observations to the physical therapist
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during all treatments and transitions
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient sessions and therapeutic outcomes
- Keep equipment clean, organized, and functioning properly
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license issued by the State of Kansas
- Completion of an accredited PTA educational program
- Current CPR certification (BLS or ACLS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and clinical staff
- Ability to work independently in patient homes while maintaining professional clinical standards
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Physical capability to assist patients with mobility and positioning
