Deli Baker

Pilot Company is seeking a skilled Deli Baker for our Aurora, OR location. This part-time position offers the opportunity to showcase your baking expertise in a fast-paced travel center environment where quality, freshness, and customer satisfaction are paramount.

About the Role

As a Deli Baker at Pilot Company's Aurora facility, you'll be responsible for preparing fresh baked goods and deli items throughout your shift. Working in a retail operations setting, you'll contribute directly to the customer experience by ensuring our bakery selection meets the high standards travelers expect. Your work is central to our travel center's food service operations, where consistency and food safety are non-negotiable.

Core Duties

• Prepare and bake fresh bread, pastries, rolls, and specialty items according to established recipes and quality standards
• Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure optimal product quality and consistency
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery station and all equipment
• Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
• Rotate stock and check product freshness; remove or replace outdated items
• Assist with deli counter operations as needed during peak service times
• Respond professionally to customer inquiries about bakery products

Skills & Qualifications

• Prior baking or deli experience in a commercial kitchen (preferred)
• Working knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
• Ability to follow recipes precisely and maintain consistent product quality
• Physical stamina for standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in warm kitchen conditions
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
• Reliable, punctual attendance
• Valid Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain one
• Excellent customer service orientation
