Position Summary

CACI seeks an experienced Software Data Modeler to strengthen enterprise software asset management for the Department of the Air Force. In this role, you'll build and refine comprehensive software inventory models within our asset management platform, serving as subject matter expert on assigned software publishers and their licensing models. Your work directly supports the Air Force's compliance, spending optimization, and procurement decisions. You'll merge technical expertise with analytical thinking at the intersection of licensing management, data integrity, and organizational strategy. Requires ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance and U.S. Citizenship; up to 10% Continental US travel.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain accurate software licensing models documenting software types, versions, installations, and usage for assigned publishers
  • Collaborate with Air Force stakeholders to understand software portfolio, procurement strategy, licensing agreements, and technical requirements
  • Monitor industry changes and evolving licensing models to keep Air Force compliance strategies current and cost-effective
  • Investigate and resolve data inconsistencies across software purchase and usage records to maintain repository reliability
  • Create and update publisher-specific work procedures and documentation to guide team members through licensing and compliance activities
  • Analyze software usage patterns and licensing data to identify underutilized assets and cost-saving opportunities
  • Gather supporting documentation during compliance audits and respond to publisher inquiries
  • Recommend strategic adjustments to licensing agreements and deployments to reduce costs and improve compliance posture
  • Participate in project status meetings, report progress, identify risks, and contribute to team goals

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in software asset management, software licensing, or IT asset management (or Bachelor's degree plus 5 years experience)
  • 3+ years of hands-on Software Asset Management (SAM) experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with ServiceNow SAM Pro, including model creation, entitlement management, and reconciliation
  • Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail when evaluating complex licensing and data quality issues
  • Clear communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with government clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Knowledge of major software licensing models (perpetual, subscription, concurrent user, named user)
  • Capacity to manage multiple publishers and products simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship (required for government contracting)

Desired qualifications: Experience with Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, or IBM licensing; vendor licensing portal management; Software Asset Management certification; government contracting background; familiarity with data governance and Accountable Property Systems of Record (APSR).
