IT Operations Expert (w/m/d)

Comrce is recruiting a full-time IT Operations Expert (w/m/d) to lead technical operations across our presence in Australia, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States. About This Position

This role places you at the heart of our technology operations. You'll manage our application infrastructure, optimize system performance, and act as the central technical authority on operations across the organization. Working with complex systems from databases through to hardware, you'll ensure our infrastructure remains stable, performant, and secure while supporting growth across multiple regions.

Core Duties

• Drive application performance and uptime by managing our database platforms, web servers, monitoring systems, and alerting infrastructure to deliver reliable service.
• Shape our infrastructure strategy by assessing current system landscapes, understanding technical dependencies, and collaborating on a roadmap for scalable and secure operations.
• Communicate technical requirements and solutions clearly to internal stakeholders, external development teams, and technology partners.
• Support compliance and security initiatives by organizing technical information, documenting system architecture, and ensuring operational practices meet standards for resilience and security.

What We're Looking For

• Qualifications: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional certification, combined with substantial hands-on experience managing and optimizing complex application environments in production.
• Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise with relational databases (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB), web servers (Apache, Internet Information Services), and infrastructure tooling such as reverse proxies (Nginx, HAProxy) and distributed application deployment.
• Systems Perspective: A holistic understanding of how applications, operating systems, infrastructure, and hardware interact; you approach operations with security as a foundational principle.
• Work Style: You operate independently and collaboratively, solving problems methodically and communicating technical ideas clearly across audiences with varying expertise.
• Languages and Availability: Fluent in German (business proficiency) and comfortable in English (written and verbal); you're able to participate in rotational on-call responsibilities as part of operational coverage.
