About This Position

Finning is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Conuma operation in Tumbler Ridge, BC. This full-time role is essential to keeping our fleet of heavy-duty equipment running safely and efficiently. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you'll apply diagnostic expertise and mechanical skills to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial and construction equipment. Working at our Tumbler Ridge service centre, you'll be part of a team dedicated to delivering reliable equipment solutions to the resource sector and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing on heavy-duty equipment and machinery
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system faults using diagnostic tools and technical manuals
• Execute repairs on engines, drivetrains, hydraulic systems, and auxiliary equipment
• Conduct equipment inspections and testing to verify functionality and safety standards
• Maintain detailed service records and document maintenance activities
• Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to prioritise workload and meet service deadlines
• Follow Finning safety protocols and industry best practices

Qualifications

• Valid Heavy Duty Mechanic certification or equivalent trade qualification
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment in an industrial setting
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to read technical manuals, service literature, and schematics
• Valid driver's licence
