Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Phoenix Home Care and Hospice is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our clinical team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this full-time role, you'll deliver skilled therapeutic care to our patients in their homes, supporting their recovery and quality of life.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to become part of Phoenix Home Care and Hospice's growing team. Working directly under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you'll provide hands-on care to patients recovering from injury, illness, or surgery—helping them regain strength, mobility, and independence within the comfort of their own homes. This position offers the meaningful work of direct patient care with the flexibility and variety that home-based therapy brings.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, and patient education
• Assist patients with movement, mobility training, and functional activities to support their rehabilitation goals
• Perform vital sign monitoring and document patient progress accurately in medical records
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises, safety, and techniques to promote independence
• Maintain professional communication with the therapy team and patient care coordinators
• Adhere to infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or certification in Missouri
• Ability to travel between patient homes throughout the Kansas City area
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients of all ages
• Physical capability to perform patient-handling and therapeutic techniques
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Commitment to patient safety and professional clinical standards
