Director of Development

As Director of Development in Milwaukee County, you'll lead the strategic vision and execution of development, fundraising, and community engagement programs. Core Duties

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising and development strategies aligned with organizational mission
• Identify, cultivate, and steward major donors and community partners to support program growth
• Lead fundraising campaigns, grant writing, and revenue generation initiatives
• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, corporate sponsors, and institutional partners
• Oversee marketing, communications, and public relations efforts to increase organizational visibility
• Monitor development outcomes, analyze key metrics, and report progress to senior leadership
• Collaborate with program and operations teams to ensure alignment between fundraising and mission delivery

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in development, fundraising, or equivalent nonprofit leadership roles
• Proven track record of successful fundraising campaign management and major gift development
• Strong expertise in strategic planning, project management, and cross-functional collaboration
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Experience with donor databases and nonprofit management software
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• Passion for mission-driven work, community service, and honoring those who served
