Outpatient Coding Auditor

We are representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking an experienced Outpatient Coding Auditor to join their remote team. This role offers the opportunity to work with industry-leading HIM professionals while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive coding audits on various facility outpatient record types remotely
• Apply expert knowledge of surgical CPT coding to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Identify trends and patterns based on coding audit findings
• Formulate detailed final reports including recommendations and corrective action plans
• Communicate findings and guidance confidently via conference calls and written correspondence
• Adapt to changing requirements and maintain quality standards

What We're Looking For

• AHIMA or AAPC certification required
• 2-3 years minimum experience performing outpatient facility audits
• Previous outpatient coding experience in addition to auditing background
• Expert surgical CPT experience is essential
• Strong analytical skills with ability to identify coding trends and develop actionable insights
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong quality focus
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing workflows
