Manager, Accounting Advisory Services – Nonprofit Industry Clients

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential professional services organization seeking a Manager to lead nonprofit accounting advisory engagements. This is a fully remote opportunity available anywhere in the United States. Our client works with mission-driven organizations to strengthen their financial operations through controller-level advisory services, and they're looking for an experienced professional who can build trusted relationships while delivering exceptional results.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Review financial reporting packages and work papers for quality, completeness, and timely delivery
• Prepare and analyze benchmarking data and key performance indicators to support client insights
• Present completed reporting packages and findings to client stakeholders
• Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models aligned with engagement terms
• Provide technical accounting support on complex issues to nonprofit clients and their teams
• Identify operational inefficiencies through discovery sessions and recommend actionable improvements
• Lead and coordinate engagement team members across multiple locations, ensuring high-quality deliverables and efficient workflow
• Coach and develop staff and senior accountants on accounting and financial reporting matters

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• Recent, in-depth experience with federal grant reporting and processing for nonprofit organizations, including Uniform Guidance compliance (required)
• 4–6 years of experience in the nonprofit industry through public accounting, audit, or outsourced accounting services
• 3+ years of experience managing associates and/or teams
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA strongly preferred
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis
• Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
• Excellent project management and relationship-building abilities with a client-first mindset
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
• Proficiency in industry accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to influence others, promote constructive change, and develop team members
• Ability to travel up to 10%

Pay

Our client has indicated a compensation range of $109,000 to $147,000 annually for this position, with offers typically made below the maximum to allow for future salary growth. The actual salary depends on factors including location, skills, experience, certifications, and relevant employment laws. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on individual and organizational performance.
