MBD MiL SiL testing : BMS

Bosch Group is seeking an MBD MiL SiL testing engineer specialising in Battery Management Systems (BMS) to join our Engineering team in Bengaluru, India. This full-time opportunity will see you leading the design and validation of BMS software through advanced model-based simulation and testing methodologies.

What This Role Involves

In this MBD MiL SiL testing role focused on BMS, you will own the development and execution of simulation-based validation strategies for battery management algorithms. Your work will span model-in-the-loop (MiL) and software-in-the-loop (SiL) testing, where you'll architect test environments, define validation criteria, and generate the evidence required to bring BMS solutions to production. This is hands-on engineering work that directly impacts the safety and performance of automotive battery systems.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement MiL and SiL test benches using MATLAB, Simulink, and automotive simulation frameworks
• Develop detailed test specifications and test cases covering BMS control logic, fault detection, and thermal management
• Execute simulation campaigns, analyse results, and report findings against requirements and acceptance criteria
• Build and maintain test automation scripts to accelerate simulation cycles and improve test coverage
• Support integration testing and collaborate with software teams to validate fixes and new features
• Contribute to traceability documentation and test summary reports
• Identify test gaps and recommend enhancements to validation processes

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or Automotive Engineering
• Demonstrated experience in model-based design testing, MiL or SiL validation, or simulation-based quality assurance
• Strong proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink for test development and algorithm validation
• Solid understanding of battery management systems, power electronics, or EV architecture
• Working knowledge of C or embedded C for software-in-the-loop environments
• Familiarity with automotive functional safety standards (ISO 26262) is a plus
• Excellent analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to communicate findings clearly
• Comfortable working in distributed teams and managing multiple test campaigns
