About the Role
As a Licensed Practical Nurse on our orthopedic and spine unit, you'll be an essential member of the care team, supporting patients through their surgical recovery and ongoing treatment. Working nights, you'll contribute to continuity of care during critical hours, monitoring patient progress, administering treatments, and coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care following nursing care plans and clinical protocols for orthopedic and spine patients
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment throughout your shift
- Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and post-operative patient management
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under registered nurse supervision
- Respond promptly to patient needs and requests, maintaining comfort and safety
- Communicate effectively with physicians, registered nurses, and support staff to coordinate care
- Document patient information accurately and completely in medical records
- Support patients with activities of daily living and mobility assistance as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and adhere to infection control standards
What We're Looking For
- Current Tennessee state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and care teams
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
- Flexibility and adaptability in responding to clinical needs
- Attention to detail and accountability in documenting and reporting patient information
