About the Role
As an Accounts Payable Coordinator (JR 5732) at our Los Angeles County office, you'll play a vital role in processing hundreds of monthly payments across our complex nonprofit funding structure. Working with moderate guidance from our Finance team, you'll handle vendor payments, corporate card reconciliation, and staff reimbursements while ensuring every transaction meets our rigorous accuracy standards.
What You'll Do
- Process and verify accounts payable transactions including vendor invoices, credit card charges, and employee expense reimbursements with precision and efficiency
- Partner with program teams and external vendors to resolve payment discrepancies and answer billing questions
- Review payment entries, identify coding errors, and correct transaction records to maintain financial integrity
- Support the Finance and Grants Management team with transaction adjustments, invoicing, and audit documentation
- Maintain organized filing systems for AP documentation and support compliance with nonprofit accounting standards
What We're Looking For
- Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail in financial record-keeping
- Proven capacity to communicate clearly—both verbally and in writing—with colleagues and external contacts
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while taking initiative on routine tasks and problem-solving
- Sound judgment and integrity in handling sensitive financial information
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business, plus one year of accounting or finance experience (or equivalent combination)
- Previous experience with nonprofit accounts payable systems a strong advantage
