Weatherby Healthcare is seeking a locums pathologist for a full-time position at a facility in Fergus Falls, located in Otter Tail County, Minnesota. This flexible staffing opportunity is ideal for an experienced pathologist ready to take on varied diagnostic cases in a high-volume laboratory setting.
About the Role
This locums position is designed to meet ongoing staffing needs with a flexible monthly schedule. You'll work between 2 and 6 days per month, managing a busy diagnostic laboratory that processes approximately 30 cases daily. The role offers exposure to diverse specimen types and diagnostic challenges across multiple pathology specialties.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate and diagnose breast, prostate, dermatology, esophageal, and colorectal biopsies
- Process and interpret highly complex tissue specimens requiring expert analysis
- Manage case volume of approximately 30 specimens per day
- Provide up to 2 hours of daily coverage as needed
- Perform bone marrow biopsy interpretation (preferred skill)
What We're Looking For
- Board-certified or board-eligible pathologist with surgical pathology expertise
- Experience interpreting high-complexity specimens
- Proficiency in breast, prostate, dermatology, esophageal, and gastrointestinal pathology
- Ability to work independently without dedicated pathologist assistant support
- Comfort with a flexible locums schedule and variable monthly hours
- Strong diagnostic acumen and precision in a fast-paced environment
