A Locums Nephrologist Is Wanted in Pennsylvania

About the Role

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking an experienced nephrologist to provide essential coverage at a busy Pennsylvania facility. You'll work scheduled rotation blocks with ongoing patient assignments, ensuring comprehensive care continuity across the inpatient census. This role emphasizes both direct clinical care and collaborative consultation practice in a collegial environment.

What You'll Do

• Manage 30–40 inpatients daily with primary focus on nephrology consultations and continuity care
• Provide specialized dialysis management, including hemodialysis optimization and troubleshooting
• Perform and supervise continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) for critically ill patients
• Conduct renal biopsies and manage diagnostic workup for glomerular disease
• Place and manage central venous catheters for vascular access
• Evaluate and treat acute kidney injury and manage chronic kidney disease progression
• Provide post-transplant nephrology care for renal allograft recipients
• Document clinical assessments and treatment plans in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with primary teams, surgeons, and interventional specialists

Schedule

Friday through Monday, 5 pm to 7 am shifts (62 hours per week). Work scheduled in rotation blocks to support ongoing facility coverage while preserving predictable time off.

What We're Looking For

• MD or DO with board certification in nephrology
• Active Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility for expedited credentialing
• Current ACLS and BLS certification
• Proficiency in hemodialysis and acute kidney injury management
• Experience with invasive procedures including biopsies, catheter placement, and CRRT
• Strong communication and collaborative practice style
• Comfort working autonomously while consulting effectively with specialists
