Position Summary
This full-time locum role provides general surgical care to adult patients at a healthcare facility in need of immediate, sustained staffing coverage. You will perform a range of core general surgery procedures, manage patient care independently, and participate in on-call coverage as part of a regular monthly schedule designed for predictable staffing needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex general surgery procedures for adult patients
- Manage clinical cases independently with appropriate scope of practice
- Participate in call coverage at a schedule of 7–10 days per month
- Maintain current ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certification and apply emergency protocols as needed
- Deliver continuity of care across regular monthly assignments
- Work effectively in an environment without dedicated GI support on staff
Qualifications
- Current, active Medical License in Arkansas or eligibility for Arkansas licensure
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in General Surgery
- Active ATLS certification (Advanced Trauma Life Support)
- Ability to perform the full scope of general surgical procedures required for this assignment
- Professional liability coverage, with malpractice insurance provided and prepaid
- Reliable transportation and valid travel documentation for pre-arranged travel support
