IT Infrastructure Engineer (gn)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential services organization in Northern Germany seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their technology operations on a permanent basis. In this position, you will take responsibility for operating, optimizing, and advancing the IT infrastructure with focus on networking, cloud platforms, and virtualization environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize server and client landscapes as well as virtualization environments (such as VMware or Hyper-V)
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for complex infrastructure requests and serve as technical point of contact during incidents
• Administer and develop the Windows domain including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file services
• Operate and advance the Microsoft 365 environment (Entra ID, Exchange, Teams) and cloud resources in Azure
• Ensure operational continuity of core network components including firewall, VPN, switching, routing, and VLANs
• Automate administrative processes (using PowerShell) to improve efficiency
• Plan and execute infrastructure projects such as migrations, rollouts, and system implementations
• Coordinate external service providers and ensure SLA compliance

What We're Looking For

• Extensive professional experience (5+ years) in system administration with emphasis on Windows Server, Active Directory, and core network services (DNS, DHCP)
• Confident handling of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams including telephony, OneDrive, SharePoint) and Entra ID
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, switching, VLAN, routing, VPN, and firewall technologies
• Demonstrable experience executing infrastructure projects (migrations, rollouts, system implementations)
• Excellent German and English language skills for communication with international teams and external partners
• High degree of initiative, proactivity, and sense of responsibility with a strong hands-on mentality
