About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential international healthcare organization on a search for a Biomedical Engineer / Healthcare Planning Specialist to join their team in Bozen, Italy. This is a permanent, direct-hire position working on sophisticated hospital and medical facility projects from concept through implementation.
In this role, you'll contribute your technical expertise to interdisciplinary project teams, developing solutions at the intersection of medical technology, architecture, and clinical requirements. After comprehensive onboarding at a location in Bavaria, Germany (accommodation provided for 3–6 months), you'll transition to your permanent base in Bozen, South Tyrol, where you'll work on international healthcare projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan and design medical technology equipment layouts for hospitals and healthcare facilities
- Create and maintain room-based equipment planning documentation for medical devices and systems
- Contribute to functional planning and coordination of clinical spaces based on clinical workflows and processes
- Develop and edit planning documents using AutoCAD and Revit
- Position and integrate medical technology equipment and systems into floor plans
- Coordinate medical technology requirements with architects, specialist planners, and other project stakeholders
- Define technical and infrastructure prerequisites for medical device deployment in collaboration with project teams
- Participate in international hospital and medical technology projects
- Coordinate technical specifications and requirements with medical system manufacturers and suppliers
What We're Looking For
- University degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering Sciences, Technical Medicine, or comparable technical-scientific qualification
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Solid technical understanding and knowledge of medical devices and systems, with ability to translate technical requirements into planning solutions
- Structured, precise, and self-directed work approach with quick adaptation to complex technical and clinical contexts
- Strong collaborative skills within interdisciplinary teams; clear and reliable communication with physicians, nursing staff, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders
- Fluent German and English; additional language skills in Italian and French are welcome
- Willingness to travel as required for international projects
